Frequently asked questions

What does Clippa do?

Clippa lives in your Mac menu bar and remembers everything you copy — text, links, images, screenshots, GIFs, video, and audio. Click the menu bar icon to browse, search, and re-copy any clip.

Is my clipboard data sent anywhere?

No. Everything is stored locally on your Mac. Clippa has no server, no analytics, no accounts. Your data never leaves your device.

Does Clippa train on or collect my data in any way?

Absolutely not. Clippa does not train on, collect, or transmit your data. There is no telemetry, no usage tracking, and no data pipeline of any kind. What you copy stays on your machine and nowhere else.

How many clips does it keep?

Your last 100 copies, each up to 50 MB. Oldest clips are automatically removed as new ones come in.

How does search work?

Clippa searches across filenames, text content, and even text inside images using OCR (optical character recognition). Just start typing in the search bar.

What macOS versions are supported?

Clippa requires macOS Sonoma (14.0) or later.

Is it a subscription?

No. Clippa is a one-time purchase of $2.99. No subscriptions, no in-app purchases.

Can I use it offline?

Yes. Clippa works entirely offline. It never needs an internet connection.

Where are my clips stored?

Clips are stored in your local Application Support directory. They persist across app restarts and system reboots.

How do I clear my clipboard history?

Open Clippa from the menu bar, click the gear icon, and choose "Clear All Clips". You can also delete individual clips by hovering and clicking the X button.
